The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, built with British wool across three distinct layers to provide a foundation that breathes, cushions, and endures. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose for a soft feel against the skin, while viscose adds durability to a fabric designed for decades of use. Beneath the cover, Devonshire fleece wool offers immediate give by teasing the fibres to allow air to move freely, moderating temperature throughout the night, with an additional layer of British fleece wool beneath it to add depth and resilience and prevent uneven surface compression over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, with each spring operating independently within its own calico pocket to support sleepers of different builds without mutual interference. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a key reason it is used across the range. The Devonshire is available in four tension options — Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm — and King sizes can be split at the centre for partners with different preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching reinforce the border coils for a firm, consistent sleeping surface to the very edge, while hand-tufting with felt washers anchors fillings in place to prevent lateral shift over years of use.
